Flossmoor, Illinois is the next door neighbor to Homewood. The town has a lot more ordinances than Homewood and can be seen as uptight. Well, there are a few good things in Flossmoor.

Homewood, Illinois is a south suburb of Chicago and is located at the edge of where Lake Chicago used to be. Lake Chicago was formed by a glacier way before Lake Michigan. The Main road in running through Homewood, Ridge Road, got its name because it used to sit on the edge of where the lake used to be.

The South Loop neighborhood is changing at the speed of light. It’s hard to walk down the street and not see a construction crane in the sky or hear the noises associated with development.

If you travel north on Lincoln Avenue, past Foster (around 5000 N and above) you will notice the strange plethora of motels dotting the side of the road. Not hotels, or even “modern” motels, like Best Westerns or Motel 6s, but genuine independently-owned motels built in the 50s and 60s.

Art Show Recap

Last saturday’s art show started a bit late but ended with a bang. The turnout was amazing, thanks to everyone that showed up. All you can drink, dollar donations, art for sale and good company weren’t the only perks of the night, at one point Lincoln Park police officers raided the event after a fleeing graffiti writer snuck into the show.
