A brief history of the revolving door, including, though not limited to, proper etiquette

revolve
Since the revolving door was invented, it has since become a popular accessory to buildings, especially in urban settings. Some believe that these door first made an appearance in the late Paleolithic Era, but clearly these people are fools. Others believe that they are used to help control the inside climate, and they are probably, though not necessarily, correct.

However, throughout the city, revolving doors run rampant. No matter where you turn, you may find yourself in an encounter with one. If this happens, do not panic, but stay calm. Wait until a quadrant of the door is unoccupied and opens towards you. You should hurry to enter, as not to get caught between the divide and the door jamb. Do not be too eager, jumping in a narrowing gap, or else you will clog the door and delay the process (or in very rare case, literally be pinched in half). Another use of revolving doors to avoid is piggybacking, or jumping in a already occupied quadrant. No matter how much of a hurry in, you will only slow down the process (plus it is very awkward being in such a tight space with someone you don’t know, being forced to take small, quick steps. )

Keep this advice in mind, and you will survive any chance meeting you may have.
